Rafe and Lyssy, isolated, trapped in the sickness their disturbed parents have made, struggle to find some small piece of love and hope in the fields and wild places of their farm. When Rafe finds Lyssy cutting herself, losing hope and drifting into the darkness, he desperately tries to comfort her, only to cross the boundaries of taboo and become the thing he hates the most.
