Sometimes life is not like a box of chocolates. Especially if you are a downtrodden teenager in a small town facing a dismal life sentence called adulthood. That is why James Walker attempts suicide, leaving a video tape behind as a suicide note. When the sleepy town discovers this tape, they are in for a rude awakening. What they don't know is James survived his attempt, leaving him witness to the town's reaction. This doesn't give him much faith in humanity, but a young woman and a strange series of events just might give James that much needed faith to live to see another day. Touted as John Hughes for a darker generation, "Thank You Have a Nice Day" is a heartfelt and satirical look at our struggle to survive that shows how one person's humanity can help another overcome adversity.
