Hoboken International Film Festival

MISSION & OBJECTIVE

An elite jury of celebrities, industry leaders, and key festival personnel will determine the winners of several prizes awarded by the HIFF. The HIFF has been designed to become the East Coast's premier film festival, featuring elite independent films that will be judged by award-winning, prestigious members of the film and entertainment communities. The best submissions will be rewarded with cash prizes.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

THE JURY

The 2007 jury includes:
Eileen Fulton (2004 Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award Winner; 45-year star of CBS’S As the World Turns)
Richard Barclay (Academy Award and Emmy Winning Producer)
Kenneth Del Vecchio (Critically Acclaimed Filmmaker; Best-Selling Author; Criminal Attorney; Festival Chairman)
Justin Deas (6-time Emmy winning actor)
Sonia Satra (Star from CBSs’ Guiding Light and and ABC’s One Life to Live)
Michael Petolino (MTV & Spike TV Casting Director)
B.J. Davis (Critically Acclaimed Producer/Director; former Hollywood stuntman, member of Stuntman Hall of Fame)
Ed Fry (Star from CBS’S As the World Turns and NBC’s Another World)
Anthony Falco (Established Film Producer, Police Captain, Festival Commisioner)
Michael Borao (Entertainment and boxing attorney for several boxers ranked in the top 15 in the world)
Geri Fallo (Supervisor of Cultural Affairs, City of Hoboken)
Francine Del Vecchio (Ivy league professor, screenwriter and producer of critically acclaimed films)
Brandon Slagle (Film and TV actor, Producer, Festival Director of Operations)
Jeff Quinlan (Film Executive Producer, Festival Vice Chairman)
Mary O'Rourke (Film Actress, Model, Festival Vice Chairwoman)

CASH PRIZES & AWARDS

The HIFF will select films, and award cash prizes, in numerous categories. Cash prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Best Feature Film - $1000.00; Best Director (Feature Film) - $500.00; Best Screenplay (Feature Film) - $500.00; Best Actor (Feature Film) - $500.00; Best Actress (Feature Film) - $500.00; Best Short Film; Best Documentary- $500.00; Best TV Pilot- $250.00; Best Unproduced Screenplay- $500.00.

FESTIVAL EVENTS & GALA AWARDS CEREMONY

In addition to showcasing the official film selections, the HIFF will hold varied panel discussions, presided over by selected successful industry talent and professionals. The HIFF will kick off with a semi-formal Filmmakers' Reception. A Gala Awards Ceremony, hosted by the jury members, will cap the weeklong festival celebration.

The 2007 Lifetime Achievement Award honoree is Charles Durning (2-Time Academy Award, 8-Time Golden Globe, 12-Time Emmy winner & nominee) who will accept his award at the festival’s Gala Awards Ceremony on June 7th. The 2006 recipient was Frank Vincent.

The HIFF will be held in Hoboken, New Jersey from June 1, 2007 to June 7, 2007.
