Byron Bay Film Festival
The Byron Bay Film Festival 2008 is an annual festival that spotlights filmmakers, acknowledges tradition and looks to new directions in film while creating a unique programme of films that inspire, inform and enlighten.
The Byron Bay Film Festival is an initiative of the Byron Community and Cultural Centre and local filmmakers. The Byron Bay and Northern NSW region is home to many filmmakers and so when the inaugural Byron Bay Film Festival was held in February 2006 we focused solely on Australian films and the back catalogue of our local filmmakers. Byron Bay is a magnet for people from all around the globe and so it seemed fitting that BBFF should metamorphosis into an International Film Festival in its second year.

In 2007 our festival featured over 100 films from 24 different countries, including 46 Australian premieres and 15 world premieres. Byron Bay’s international reputation encouraged filmmakers from China, Sri Lanka, the USA & the UK to attend the festival.
BBFF is located in one of Australia's most desirable locations Byron Bay - a town known world-wide for creativity, style and green-living.
